MageMaclean Ask AI adds a storefront chat widget so shoppers can ask about fit, compatibility, specs, and availability while they are looking at a product. Answers are built from Magento catalog data you already maintain — not from a generic web model that does not know your stock or attributes. Configurable products can use parent or selected-child context so the reply matches the variant on screen. The assistant can also derive straightforward facts from that context (for example volume from length × width × height when those attributes are present).

You connect your own OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or compatible endpoint. MageMaclean sells the Magento module as an annual Marketplace license; LLM usage is billed by your provider. Configuration lives under Stores → Configuration → MageMaclean → Ask AI, including system prompts, suggestion chips, placement surfaces, and spend limits. An admin usage dashboard shows daily tokens, cache hits, surface breakdown, and recent questions so you can tune budgets with real traffic.

Requires the free MageMaclean Core module (magemaclean/m2-core), installed automatically when you use Composer. Optional bundled MageMaclean_AskAiHyva provides an Alpine modal for Hyvä PDP storefronts.

Spend protection built in

Daily token budgets survive Magento cache flush. Add per-session limits, surface-aware rate limiting, response caching, CAPTCHA after N requests, and budget email alerts so a bot or busy PDP cannot run away with your provider bill.

Privacy-first defaults

Conversation logging is off by default. API keys are stored encrypted in Magento and never sent to the browser. You choose the model, temperature, and how much catalog context each request includes.

No core rewrites

Composer install, Magento layout and plugins only. You keep your theme; the Hyvä companion is optional.

System prompts, PDP and list suggestion chips, accent color, button styles, and PDP trigger display. Scope catalog context (description, attributes, stock, price) to what you want the model to see. Forbidden topics and store-specific instructions stay in your prompt — not hardcoded by MageMaclean.
